Basic Function
Supply Chain is a customer-focused Center of Excellence providing industry-leading service while delivering differential value to the business, today and into the future. We separate our Supply Chain functions into several areas; these include logistics and compliance, customer service, supply chain operations, and supply chain centers of excellence.
As a member of our dynamic Supply Chain team, you will play a critical role in helping us supply our products to a global customer base. In this contributing through others role, you will be responsible for leading and motivating the Supply Chain Operations department to provide our customers with excellent service in a manner that is efficient and cost effective. This position will support either the Polymers or I&D/Olefins business. During a typical day, you will serve as the focal point and interface between the specified business and the broader Supply Chain organization.
This position reports to the Director, Supply Chain Operations Americas and is located at our North American Headquarters in Downtown Houston. The position offers a competitive base salary, bonus, 401K matching, generous benefits package, pension plan, parking subsidy and employee discounts.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage logistics operations and/or inventory planning teams for the specified business (30-40 FTE).
- Act as a liaison with Sales, Marketing, Operations Planning, Logistics, Finance, Manufacturing, Quality and Third-Party Vendors to resolve problems, foster customer relationships and enhance supply chain operations performance.
Business Alignment
- Exemplify collaborative leadership by proactively managing customer demands to assure customer satisfaction results are consistent with business objectives.
- Provide customer-centric infrastructure to advance business growth through cross-functional teams.
Technology Enablement
- Support “Supply Chain of the Future” digital roadmap to automate work processes and enhance the customer experience.
Benchmark Culture
- Drive benchmark culture which may include, but not limited to, development of organizational metrics and gap closure solutions, supporting Value Enhancement Plan initiatives, and fostering a GoalZero culture.
- Develop standard guidelines and operational procedures to maximize operational effectiveness while minimizing expense.
Operating Discipline
- Create efficient Lead-to-Cash processes while also identifying and managing Supply Chain risks.
Logistics Procurement
- Accountable for North America logistics costs as well as to develop solutions for deviations from business plan to ensure performance metrics are met.
- Establish and implement best practices on a global basis with other LyondellBasell regions.
- Manage 3rd Party outsourcing relationship for transactional activities.
- Ensure logistics network is maintained and optimized to provide best in class logistic costs.

Min. Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years’ experience in Supply Chain, manufacturing or other related experience.
- The ideal candidate will have managerial courage as well as the desire to grow and develop people.
- Commercial acumen and business understanding are required for this role.
- Demonstratable ability to perform in a fast-paced environment that requires rapid decision-making and task delegation with immediate impact on business results.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or MBA.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ managerial/supervisory experience.
- Prior experience managing large employee groups.
- Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Able to maintain professionalism and prioritize multiple responsibilities concurrently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Analytical skills and the ability to make sound decisions is important in this role.
