Job Description:

The Director of Student Health & Wellness will provide strategic leadership for an innovative, integrated, and collaborative wellness model. Develop and implement a wellness program that supports the development of all students and focuses on physical, emotional, and social well-being and works toward building a more engaged campus community.

Essential Job Functions:
55 % A.   Establish a campus-wide integrated wellness model for assessing and improving student wellness
•         Investigate and address student wellness issues, including: 

• general student health and well-being, and how wellness affects student success
• physical fitness, active lifestyles, nutrition 
• drug & alcohol use (in partnership with the Dean of Students Office) o sexual health.

•      Work with student groups interested in wellness-related issues
•     Develop strategies for partnering with faculty and staff on student wellness issues

20 % B.   Provide supervision for Student Health Center, Peer Educator program, and other wellness-related initiatives. 

10 % C.   Research innovative wellness programs and best practices; coordinate with campus partners to implement programs and initiatives

10 % D.   Participate in the Student Affairs Leadership Team and engage in division- wide planning

5 %  E.  Build an ongoing, collaborative relationship with the Student Counseling Center

Education: 
Required:  Master’s in Health Sciences or a related field

Professional Experience: 
Required:  5 years of increasingly responsible positions within health services, health promotion, in higher education. Experience supervising multiple professionals.

Preferred: 8 years of experience in a student health or wellness position including leadership experience or Experience leading a student health center.
