We are seeking an exceptional senior data leader to nurture and grow our data organization which consists of data engineering and data science. You will develop data vision and make long-term bets for Tailor Care. Your team’s efforts serve as the backbone of product applications, analytics and reporting, and machine learning. Building an extensible and efficient data platform is foundational to our business. You will lead your team in maintaining and extending our data platform by anticipating business needs and rigorously prioritizing initiatives. You will also lead your team in our machine learning efforts to understand and predict patient behavior through experimentation with different models. Communicating progress, helping your team resolve dependencies, and working closely with your stakeholders in software engineering, product, analytics, and clinical operations are all crucial to your success. We are a fast-paced healthcare start-up prototyping new solutions that serve patients, providers, and internal clinical operations. Solutions serve to manage patient data, create patient engagement channels, aid clinical decision-making using ML models, and more. We generate and capture our own data as well as integrate with outside data providers. This role has high growth potential for personal development and for building a strong organization from the ground up. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hire, grow, and retain high-performing data engineering and data science teams
  • Guide and coach team to clarify and break-down stakeholder requests/needs, ideate solutions, and collaborate closely with stakeholders for delivery 
  • Set overall data strategy that aligns with business opportunities and growth
  • Lead team in data roadmap creation, refinement, and prioritization
  • Help the team make good decisions quickly

 

Key Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of data engineering experience 
  • 5+ years of managing data teams 
  • 3+ years of data science or managing data science teams experience
  • Proven track record of hiring, retaining, and growing strong data talent
  • Experience developing and maintaining cloud-based data lake environments, Databricks experience preferred but not required
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare data best practices
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school
