Who is Intermountain Electric?

 

Established in 1946, IME is an electrical contracting company who installs and services the power and lighting to many different commercial and industrial buildings in various markets including healthcare, aviation, higher education, solar, electric vehicle charging and government buildings. 

 

The Preconstruction internship is a full-time, paid position that will last for 10 weeks. 

What You'll Do

As an intern, you will be assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within your chosen field of study.  This program is structured to immerse you in a learning-intensive environment, providing insights into the business world and fostering hands-on experience.  Throughout the internship, you will have the chance to acquire new skills and enhance existing ones, all within a dynamic and forward-thinking business context. 

As a Preconstruction Intern, you will:

• Assist in managing and maintaining CRM data related to project pursuits, clients, and opportunities.
• Generate reports and dashboards that provide insight into market trends, project pipeline, and business development performance.
• Support preconstruction teams with data driven analysis for bid strategies, forecasting, and resource planning.
• Ensure data integrity across systems by cleaning, validating, and standardizing information.
• Collaborate with preconstruction and estimating to streamline data processes and reporting needs.
• Condust research on industry trends, competitor activity, and potential opportunities to support strategic decision-making.

Education & Experience:

• Currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program in Construction Management or Project Management

What You'll Get

Working Conditions:

Part of the time you will work in a typical office environment, the remainder of the time you will be on construction job sites. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching, and shoring, sometimes in a confined space.  You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.

 

Salary Range:  $20 - $25/hour

 *Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.*
