About the role
Job Summary
A Loomer in a wire harness manufacturing division is responsible for installing and securing wires into protective loom or conduit to create durable wire harness assemblies that meet quality and customer specifications.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Install plastic loom, braided sleeving, heat shrink, tape, and protective coverings onto wire harnesses.
- Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
- Read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, engineering drawings, and assembly diagrams.
- Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
- Cut loom and protective materials to specified lengths.
- Secure loom using tape, cable ties, clamps, or other approved fastening methods.
- Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintains a clean and organized work area
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED preferred but not required
- Working knowledge of basic math preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age
