Senior Network Engineer

<h1>Nature and aim of the position</h1><p>In this pivotal role as a Senior Network Engineer, you will integrate into a great team of senior network engineers at the forefront of shaping and nurturing our expansive worldwide data center networks.</p><p></p><p>Your core mandate will involve architecting, designing, implementing, and operating cutting-edge enterprise data solutions, thereby ensuring an impervious security envelope encasing our data centers.</p><p></p><p>The role challenges you to harmonize efficiency with security, envisaging a network environment that stands not only highly available and automated but also agile, swiftly adapting to evolving needs and technological advancements.</p><p>Guided by our strategic vision, you will spearhead initiatives that ensure the professional quality and timely delivery of services, reflecting our steadfast commitment to excellence and innovation.</p><h1>Main duties and responsibilities</h1><p>The holder of the position is responsible for</p><p><span><span>-             </span></span> <b>Planning, documenting and performing of network changes/extensions, especially in datacentres</b></p><p><b><span><span>-           </span></span> <span><span>Orchestration/Automation</span></span> of firewall rules and underlying network settings</b></p><p><span><span>-             </span></span> Designing and documenting the corporate network architecture <span><span>(LAN/WAN/WLAN/SECURITY)</span></span></p><p><span><span>-             </span></span> Data centre network security consultancy for internal departments &amp; projects </p><p><span><span>-             </span></span> Operating and monitoring of the corporate network infrastructure </p><p><span><span>-             </span></span> Providing 2nd level network infrastructure related support</p><p><span><span>-             </span></span> Designing network aspects of disaster recovery and operational security</p><p><span><span>-             </span></span> Maintaining, auditing and improving corporate network &amp; security standards</p><p><span><span>-             </span></span> Performing network related root cause analysis (RCA) and problem resolution</p><p><span><span>-             </span></span> Defining, monitoring and reporting KPIs for network services/devices</p><p><span><span>-             </span></span> Managing proof of concepts, feasibility studies etc.</p><p><span><span>-             </span></span> Investigating into new technologies &amp; security improvements</p><p><span><span>-             </span></span> Writing of white papers and documentations</p><p><span><span>-             </span></span> Acting as project leader for network related activities/projects</p><h1>Reporting and collaboration</h1><p>The holder of the position reports directly to the Senior Manager, Network &amp; Telecommunications.</p><p>The position requires close collaboration within Compute, Security, Field Service, Application Support, Service Center departments and project/product managers.</p><h1>Profile and education</h1><p>-Relevant network/IT related education (academic degree preferred)</p><ul><li><p>Excellent understanding of corporate network &amp; data centre application architecture concepts</p></li></ul><p>-Excellent analysing skills</p><p><span><span>-Scripting/programming/automation</span></span> skills</p><p>-Excellent understanding of at least four of the technical areas below:</p><ul><li><p>Datacentre security &amp; firewall infrastructure (Multivendor) - mandatory</p></li><li><p>Datacentre network infrastructure (Cisco) - mandatory</p></li><li><p>Cloud network technology</p></li><li><p>VPN <span><span>technologies/infrastructure</span></span></p></li><li><p>Network design/management</p></li><li><p>Network automation</p></li><li><p>Network technologies (Layer1-Layer4)</p></li></ul><p>-Good communication &amp; technical writing skills</p><p>-Good team-player</p><p>-Independent, goal-oriented and self-motivating personality</p><p>-Passion to deliver high quality standard levels</p><p>-Accuracy and high risk awareness</p><p>-Excellent English language skills (oral &amp; written)</p><ul><li><p>Willingness to travel and to perform standby on-calls</p></li></ul><p>Specific skills and knowledge</p><p>-Min 5 years of professional experience as datacentre network engineer</p><p>-Practical experience in enterprise network &amp; security Plan/Build/Run setup</p><ul><li><p>Work experience within an <span><span>international/multicultural</span></span> environment preferred</p></li></ul><p>Ability to work with teams distributed in different time zones</p>
