HOW YOUR ROLE FITS INTO BOLDT:
Our Director of Business Development is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing strategies to increase our existing business and generate new opportunities. The primary duty of this role involves leading the relational development of clients and gaining profitable new business, while maintaining ties with existing customers and developing new or enhanced revenue streams for future growth. Serving as a visible & respected leader of our company and within an operations unit, the director will interact with clients, the community, joint venture partners, employees, industry trade partners and suppliers. Learning and understanding current market trends and projections is key to success in this role. The director is accountable for working closely with marketing staff in establishing and implementing the operating group’s overall business and marketing plans, ensuring the plans are carried out to the company’s standards, and supported by the vital business functions and processes to ensure a successful outcome.

External Business Development (80%):
Promote Boldt’s services, image and brand with clients, community, client professional organizations and industry and trade partners.
Identify, develop, and maintain strategic client, A/E (architect/engineer), and industry specialist relationships.
Develop a high level of understanding of Boldt clients and prospective clients.
Attend defined and productive community and industry events, conferences, and tradeshows with the goal of growing relationships with clients and industry partners for future business opportunities.
Develop a strategic action plan to continually collaborate with targeted clients and professional services providers in the industry.
Play an active role in the local business community as appropriate, including active participation in strategic local, professional and community organizations.
Provide leadership in problem resolution and seek continuous feedback from clients through various methods.
Identify, develop strategy for, and pursue clients and projects for both short- and long-term success of Operations Unit and our company.
Business Development Strategy (20%):
Develop and implement business development plan for assigned region (or market) ensuring that annual sales, client development and retention targets are met or exceeded.
Lead qualification, proposal and interview efforts with appropriate marketing, preconstruction, and operational teams.
Use fiscally sound judgement to manage business development budget; analyzing and controlling expenditures to conform to budget requirements; including, recommending or approving the budget, expenditures, implementing ways to improve operational efficiencies, providing accurate reports, continuously reviewing return on investment and budget performance, etc.
Organize and lead client and/or market-specific meetings, reports, and action plans.
Maintain market and competitor intelligence in primary and secondary markets.
Review, develop, and establish “standard work”, metrics/benchmarks and guidelines to measure progress and drive the group towards continued success.
Coordinate with corporate and divisional marketing teams on brand strategies, messaging, and public relations (i.e., digital messaging, trade publications, speaking engagements, events, awards submissions, etc.)
Use and maintain accurate and updated reporting with Dynamics CRM for tracking opportunities, leads, activities, and relationships.
Demonstrate sound financial management by finding opportunities to improve revenues to achieve operational and strategic goals.
Industry Specific:
Ability to network with the capital project leaders within various industrial markets with a focus on the strategic targets: Food and beverage/ Pulp and paper/ Heavy industrial manufacturing
Strong network of appropriate design engineering firms, and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), trade partners and potential local or diverse construction partners.
Knowledge of elements of risk, including equipment performance, schedule, cost structure.
