The Director, Trade and Specialty Channel Management is a field-based role, reporting to the Senior Director of Trade Relations, who sets the strategy for assigned accounts and is responsible for implementing and managing the day-to-day operations of Azurity’s Trade and Specialty Distribution channel for our existing and pipeline products. The Director engages with existing channel partners while also implementing optimal network access for our new product launches. This role serves as the lead point of contact for all trade related activities within assigned trade & specialty accounts, including distribution contracting efforts for entire product portfolio and developing business relationships with appropriate individuals within each assigned account.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and oversee partner activities, including all activities related to customer service; including, product handling and storage, inventory management, performance measurement for services provided by channel, audit support, and resolution of field issues (i.e., problems reported from providers/pharmacies, distributors, related to service and product access)
  • Manage and maintain the infrastructure for specialty distribution of multiple rare disease products
  • Work with Specialty Pharmacies to support timely first fill and optimal patient experience throughout the patient journey including adherence programs
  • Leverage the use of data analytics, metrics, process improvements, and fee-based programs in the specialty pharmacies to support patients consistent with brand strategies
  • Ensure data integrity and adequate data flows and compliance between the company and distribution vendors and trade partners; partner with business analytics to develop and disseminate distribution related key performance indicators/analysis
  • Partner with Patient Services, Market Access/Strategic Accounts and Commercial Operations to develop strategies to ensure all specialty pharmacy capabilities are being used to support patients consistent with brand strategies
  • Negotiate and execute distribution contracts including oversight and management of renewals, terms of sale, revenue recognition, payment/collections for product sales with assigned specialty distributors and specialty pharmacy accounts
  • Partner with internal stakeholders such as Patient Services, Market Access, Supply Chain and Finance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, Health Care related field preferred
  • An advanced degree (e.g., PharmD, MS Pharm, BSN, MBA) is preferred
  • 10+ years of related experience with strong knowledge of limited distribution drug dynamics
  • Expertise in developing and implementing channel distribution networks for specialty biologics
  • Experience in planning, execution and project-management and analytical skills required
  • Experience with understanding and creating contract terms, conditions and partnering with legal on business issues is required
  • Ability and willingness to work independently as well as with team members
  • Experience in the account management or sales/field personnel management is required
  • Managing multiple tasks effectively, independently and in a timely manner to meet the business needs
  • Highly driven person that displays an intense sense of ownership and relies on self to develop and deliver results
  • Proficient with Microsoft tools: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Able to travel away from home location by air and car for meetings, industry events and other business needs
