Overview
The Operations Data Analyst plays a key role in driving operational excellence across Manufacturing and Procurement by transforming data into actionable business insights. This position partners closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Quality, and IT teams to improve performance, support strategic decision-making, and enhance efficiency through data-driven analysis and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Analyze manufacturing, procurement, inventory, and supply chain data from ERP systems and other business applications to support operational and financial objectives
- Develop, maintain, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, schedule attainment, inventory performance, supplier delivery, material availability, scrap reduction, and overall operational effectiveness
- Identify trends, bottlenecks, risks, and improvement opportunities within manufacturing and procurement processes
- Evaluate production schedules, capacity utilization, labor productivity, and equipment performance to support operational planning and resource optimization
- Monitor inventory levels and material availability to balance service requirements and inventory investment
- Assess supplier performance through analysis of quality, delivery, lead times, cost competitiveness, and other key metrics
- Support procurement initiatives through spend analysis, sourcing insights, supplier scorecards, and purchasing trend reporting
- Develop forecasting models for inventory demand, production capacity, and procurement planning
- Create and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and business reports using Power BI, Excel, ERP reporting tools, and other business intelligence platforms
- Deliver routine and ad hoc reporting for Manufacturing, Procurement, Operations, Finance, and Executive Leadership teams
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure data accuracy, reporting consistency, and alignment of operational metrics
- Identify data quality issues and recommend process improvements that enhance reporting reliability and business performance
- Provide analytical support for Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and cost-reduction initiatives
- Assist with ERP reporting enhancements, testing activities, user acceptance processes, and system improvement initiatives
- Establish standardized reporting processes, documentation, and governance practices to improve organizational visibility and decision-making
- Present findings, recommendations, and performance insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Must Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+ years of experience in operations analytics, manufacturing analytics, procurement analytics, business intelligence, or a related analytical role
- Experience working with ERP systems such as JD Edwards (JDE), SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar enterprise platforms
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, Power Query, and complex data analysis functions
- Experience building dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI or comparable business intelligence tools
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory management, MRP, procurement, and supply chain processes
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
