Clinical Documentation Information Specialist- Full Time

Under the direction of the Director of Health Information Management, the Clinical Documentation Information Specialist is responsible for improving overall quality, accuracy and completeness of clinical documentation through extensive communication with Physicians, other Care Team Members, and Medical Records Coding Staff. Assures all clinical documentation is appropriate for level of service provided to all patients. Provides education to Care team Members related to the clinical documentation process.
Minimum Work Experience
- Education: Diploma, Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management or Nursing
- Experience: Five years experience in Inpatient Coding or Clinical Documentation Improvement; Excellent computer skills
- Certification/Licensure/ Registration: Current, valid Coding or CDI certification: RHIA, RHIT, CIC, CCC or CCDS
