The Pharmacy Technician 2 is an In-Person, Patient facing position that supports the efforts of our Retail Clinic Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician 2 obtains new prescriptions and prescription refill information. The Pharmacy Technician 2 performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. Performs computations. Typically works on semi-routine assignments.

The Pharmacy Technician will be required to be on their feet, handle multiple tasks as needed to fulfill a medication and answer patients' questions, in person and over the phone

The Pharmacy Technician 2 retrieves, counts, and measures drugs. Assists Pharmacist in price-checking and restocking of drugs. Accesses, inputs, and retrieves prescription information from computer. Refers physicians' calls and any medical questions to pharmacist. May operate a cash register. Decisions are typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction. Follows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Pharmacy Technician experience
  • Must have an active Pharmacy Technician license in in the state of Florida
  • Must have National Certification (PTCB), or the ability to obtain within the first 6 months of hire
  • This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana/Senior Bridge's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.
  • Ability to travel to cover locations in the Tampa/Largo area
  • Stand for extended periods
  • Frequently required to walk
  • Frequently reach with hands and arms
  • Frequently bend
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Certified Immunizer

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
