Deployment of these microphysiological systems (MPSs) will expedite and enhance novel target discovery and maturation. The microphysiological liver system is looking for support in developing and verifying novel cell culture conditions to better mimic physiological states, focusing on parameters such as glucose, insulin, and fatty acid balance to support accurate metabolic modeling. Responsibilities span multiple domains including, but not limited to, primary cell culture in both standard and MPS culture systems using hepatocytes and supporting cell types. Additionally, the intern will also be responsible for execution of biochemical assays for endpoints like albumin, CYP activity, insulin sensitivity, and lipid metabolism, and computational input from QSP modeling to guide prioritization of cell culture parameters.
