IHC in South Bend, Indiana, is looking for a talented and caring Expanded-Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our dedicated and experienced team! This is a full-time position.


Overview: The Expanded-Function Dental Assistant will be responsible for sterilizing and maintaining dental treatment rooms and instruments, performing advanced lab procedures like pouring impressions, preparing casting models, and managing inventory control. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in dental assisting, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to perform expanded functions efficiently.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduation from a recognized Dental Assistant program
  • Certification: Proof of current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (AED included)
  • Required to provide education, dates, and any certificates at the time of application
  • Expanded functions certificate
  • Current Radiography license
  • Coronal polishing certificate required within 6 months of hire date
  • Experience with electronic health records preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required
  • Interacts with colleagues and patients in a professional manner
  • Possess excellent communication skills
