The BD Product Security Officer – Software Technology Solutions will improve the security of BD products and solutions sold to customers by design, in use, and through partnership. This person will lead, guide and oversee the adoption of the corporate product security framework within various business units and other aspects of the overarching product security program. The Product Security Officer will utilize available corporate resources to participate in the evaluation of new projects and technologies with a lens for secure architecture, program management, security testing and incident response. This position focuses on connected and cloud-based solutions over their lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate and advocate for adoption of the BD product security framework activities on supported programs

• Communicate and foster partnership with research and development teams

• Foster and perform within a DevSecOps mindset

• Oversee the security of emerging products and technologies within the BD ecosystem

• Maintain and update security policies and procedures

• Work with teams to ensure projects are meeting objectives and deadlines

• Drive secure outcomes by encouraging secure product development practices and tools

• Ensure alignment of the Corporate Product Security Office and compliance with associated policy and procedure

• May perform other duties as needed

Scope:

The Product Security Officer works with product teams and functional groups to determine objectives, scope and timeline for key initiatives while ensuring collaboration and alignment with business objectives. In collaboration with R&D, Service, Quality, Legal, and the Corporate Privacy Officer, the Product Security Officer sets clear direction for the adoption of solutions, processes, policies, and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, network engineering, software engineering or a proven track record of excellence in cybersecurity.

• Experience with AWS and Azure is preferred

• Minimum of 5 years network security experience

• Minimum of 2 years experience in product security or risk management, with proven ability to operate cross-functionally executing business-wide initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Subject matter expertise in Cybersecurity & Cloud security

• Subject matter expertise in secure networking technologies

• Experience in enabling security by design and security in use by working in various phases of the Software Development Lifecycle. Have experience with the implementation of Cloud Domain specific standards and approaches for product security and privacy.

• Facilitate the enablement of Research and Development teams to produce secure and safe functionality for customers.

• Experience in the steering of technology strategies, initiatives, and other objectives by collaborating across business functions.

• Proficiency with both interpreted and non-interpreted coding languages and practices

• Experience in gathering, analyzing and summarizing data from diverse locations to formulate decisive recommendations.

• Demonstrates an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced results-focused environment.

• Capable of conducting in-depth analysis and consistently stay informed on emerging technologies and software/security best practices.

• Consistently maintains exceptionally high standards for quality and performance.

• Skilled in effective communication through visual, verbal and written means

• Possesses a technical aptitude for ongoing learning and skill maintenance.

• CISSP or GPEN preferred.
