Description

 Objective: To lead logistics operations for WINGS, managing transportation and fostering strong supply chain partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead and optimize the WINGS Logistics Center operations, collaborating with the Logistics Manager to ensure strict compliance with WINGS policies and procedures. Implement efficient inventory management systems and ensure the safety and security of the facility and its staff.

· Direct and improve the WINGS Transportation Team operations by partnering with the team supervisor to maximize productivity through optimal scheduling and fleet management. Ensure the highest levels of customer service and team safety, while maintaining the WINGS truck fleet.

· Manage and oversee the WINGS In-Kind Needed Items Team to ensure exceptional customer service to donors and clients, with a focus on increasing donor satisfaction rates.

· Collaborate cross-functionally with WINGS departments including Resale, Program, and Development, to assess and fulfill supply needs, ensuring organizational supply needs.

· Build and strengthen partnerships with business leaders, service organizations, and faith communities to drive WINGS awareness, enhance donor loyalty among these groups; to raise awareness of domestic violence issues and WINGS programs; and to maximize donations, including merchandise for Resale Stores and In-Kind donations for Program Services.

· Develop and update written policies and standard operating procedures regularly, ensuring alignment with evolving operational needs and industry best practices.

· Represent WINGS at various internal and external meetings, contributing strategic insights and operational updates to support organizational goals.  

· Provide comprehensive reporting to senior leadership and stakeholders, delivering actionable insights on logistics operations, transportation performance, and supply chain efficiencies.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

· 5 years of experience managing multiple teams, with a proven track record of leadership and operational improvements.

· 3 years of customer service experience, demonstrating a strong commitment to service excellence.

· 5 years of logistics management experience, with a focus on optimizing supply chain processes.

· OSHA certification (preferred).

· Strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams across departments.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong analytical and reporting capabilities.

· Valid Illinois driver’s license, transportation, automobile insurance, and a clean driving record. Ability to drive agency vehicles as required.

· Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including lifting up to 35 pounds regularly and standing for extended periods.
