We're on the lookout for a visionary problem-solver to drive our testing scalability and maturity initiatives. As a Staff Software Developer in Test, your role goes beyond traditional quality improvement aspects and automating user scenarios. We need someone inspired and excited by engineering challenges, that can craft robust testing frameworks and tools, and integrate them into CI/CD as a service to our product engineering teams. This position is key to shaping our long-term testing strategy, processes, and scalability, fostering a culture where developers actively contribute to testing efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Help refine and execute the test automation strategy within a continuous delivery environment
• Foster continuous improvement in software test automation across product engineering teams
• Design, develop, and manage comprehensive test frameworks and infrastructure to support test automation
• Develop dashboards and reporting to monitor and communicate various aspects of automation health and status
• Mentorship of less-senior Software Development Engineers in Test (SDETs)
• Engage in technical discussions and ensure effective communication of automation architecture throughout design and development
• Collaborate closely with Engineering and Product teams to ensure they are supported through test tools and automation
• Participate in prioritizing, planning, and coordinating SDET activities to achieve roadmap goals
• Continuously evaluate and improve testing platforms and processes to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and cost optimization

You will likely have:

• Experience driving a pragmatic test automation strategy in a fast-moving startup environment
• Experience with both UI and API Automation
• Proficiency with TypeScript / JavaScript or similar programming languages
• Experience with Docker
• Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD build and release pipelines such as Github Actions, GCP CloudBuild, AWS CodePipeline, or similar technologies
• In-depth knowledge of automation tools and frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Jest, or similar tools
• Experience with DataDog and other system reliability and quality tracking tools
• Experience with major cloud services such as GCP, AWS, and Azure
• Experience with IaC technologies such as Terraform
