Job Summary

OpenGov modernizes how government works — and field marketing is how that story reaches the people who need to hear it. The Field Marketing Coordinator plays a hands-on role in bringing OpenGov's brand to life through events, trade shows, and campaigns that generate pipeline and deepen relationships with prospects and customers. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, energized by logistics and execution, and eager to grow within a fast-moving govtech marketing team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of field marketing programs and event strategies that drive pipeline and advance OpenGov's presence in key markets.

  • Coordinate logistics for regional marketing events, including trade shows and conferences — managing vendors, timelines, and on-site setup to ensure smooth execution.

  • Assist with planning and executing the annual customer conference, supporting promotion, registration, vendor coordination, on-site logistics, and post-event follow-up.

  • Partner with go-to-market teams to understand target audiences and ensure event messaging aligns with campaign objectives and product positioning.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, ensuring alignment with brand standards and campaign goals.

  • Track event and campaign performance using marketing automation and CRM platforms, contributing to ROI reporting and post-event recaps.

  • Coordinate with local industry associations, partners, and vendors to support event logistics and expand OpenGov's reach.

  • Represent OpenGov professionally at events, and travel to event locations as needed to support on-site execution.

Requirements and Preferred Experience

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • 1–2 years of experience in event coordination, field marketing, or a related role; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Google Suite; familiarity with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Fluency with AI productivity tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) in a marketing context.

  • Ability to travel occasionally and work flexible hours to support event activities.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience supporting trade shows, conferences, or B2B marketing events.

  • Familiarity with marketing automation or CRM platforms such as Salesforce.

  • Interest in or exposure to the public sector, government technology, or SaaS industries.

Compensation:

Chicago, IL: $60,000- $75,000

On target ranges above include base plus a portion of variable compensation that is earned based on company and individual performance.

The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate’s geographical location.
