The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization, Maritime and Intelligence Systems (M&IS) Division is seeking an Audio-Visual Engineer with Auto CAD Drafting experience (Level 3, 4 ) to join our Mission Systems Operations team in Herndon, VA.  Our team focuses on delivering complex solutions in some of the most challenging environments on Earth. Position Overview:

The Audio-Visual/CAD Drafter you will be a part of a high-performing team.  As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to design audiovisual systems, create detailed system designs and engineering drawings using a CAD software. You will work closely with clients, project managers, and other team members to understand the requirements and develop effective AV solutions.

This role will include translating customer needs into detailed requirements for system integrated designs including system architectures for current operations and program growth, facility design, hardware selection, software selection and development, system integration, testing, operations and maintenance (O&M).

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform system designs and generate engineering drawings using CAD software including AutoCAD and Visio software.

• Perform system monitoring, integration, hardware and software installation, configuration, and upgrades of servers to support audio-visual architecture.

• Perform product and component management to ensure technical viability and cost-effectiveness.

• Evaluate product usability, affordability, functionality, security, and performance to assess suitability for integration into delivery system environments.

• Plan and coordinate complex audio-visual software and hardware for enterprise release.

• Ensure systems conform to architectural objectives.

• Evaluate complex system's production readiness and supportability.

• Perform complex system problem identification and resolution.

• Use CAD and Visio to develop system design artifacts, signal flow diagrams, equipment elevations, BOM’s, and configuration guides.

• Upload and troubleshoot control system files (Creston, Extron, AMX, Thinklogical).

• Upload, modify, and troubleshoot audio Digital Signal Processor files (Biamp, QSC, etc...).

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot large scale Audio Video and USB systems (Crestron, Extron, Thinklogical).

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret/CI Poly Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active). 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• 3 years or more of experience setting up and supporting large-scale Audio/Visual systems.

• 3 years or more of experience in AutoCAD software to design, engineer, and implement AV solutions

• 3 years or more of experience communicating with customer representatives, in both written and spoken form, regarding technical subjects.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

• CTS or CTS-I certification
