This role is pivotal in channeling our scientific capabilities into commercial strategies to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives. As the Director and member of the US Immunology Marketing Leadership team, you'll play a crucial role driving innovation and translating clinical plans into commercial strategies and advancing the larger US commercialization efforts for an expanding Immunology Portfolio.

 

The Life Cycle Management (LCM) Director Marketing is the US commercial lead for AstraZeneca’s immunology pipeline, shaping brand strategy and US launch readiness efforts for all future formulations and indications. This role reports directly to the Sr. Marketing Director Immunology and will sit as a core member of the US Immunology Marketing Leadership Team.  This role is a high visibility, strategic position that will work across a matrixed team with US Medical, commercial and global partners to develop commercial plans to ensure that all aspects of product launches are successful.

 

The LCM Director, Marketing will be accountable for the development and implementation of the Pre-launch to Commercial Launch strategy across the Immunology portfolio for the US market.  Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Lead the strategy, develop milestone based plans and coordinate implementation of critical pre-launch activities across the business including US brand Market plan, HCP commercial strategy, patient journey and engagement strategy, insight generation including qualitative and quantitative research with HCPs/patients/payers, advisory board development, forecasting and supply chain support. 

  • Act as the key liaison between the US and Global organization to ensure timely, clear and aligned plans are linked to the broader global needs of all Immunology assets.

  • Lead the go to market model recommendations and work with Marketing and field leadership to support customer segmentation, field deployment recommendations and field execution plans.

  • Collaborate across a highly matrixed organization with cross-functional and alliance partners in Marketing, Sales, GPPS, Pricing & Market Access, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Operations to flawlessly deliver on launch plans

  • Build and present business cases to support Phase 3, RWE and Post launch studies and commercial investment decisions including comprehensive insight generation, market analysis, forecasting, and commercial modeling

  • Attend congresses/conferences and develop a roadmap for HCP engagements for all pipeline assets

  • Work across the Marketing organization to empower and support all aspects of future launches with in-line marketing teams to ensure key events/milestones and deliverables are seamlessly integrated into the business

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in business required with 8+ years of Pharmaceutical or Healthcare experience & 5+ years of Pharmaceutical Marketing or related experience including: Marketing, Managed Markets, Pharmaceutical Sales, Market Research/analytics, Strategic Planning or Relevant Agency Experience

  • 2+ years of immunology experience required

  • Demonstrated leadership in working within cross-functional business units in matrixed organization

  • Broad knowledge of the branded pharmaceutical development to commercialization processes across multiple business functions and demonstrated Learning agility

  • Expert written, presentation, strategy analysis and business case development skills with ability to synthesis large information into executive communications

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, influence at all levels of the organization, lead without authority and work successfully with cross-functional teams & partners

  • Requires approximately 10-20 % travel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree in business, marketing, or the sciences;

  • Broad business acumen with experiences across multiple functions

  • Experience in cross-channel, cross-customer marketing

  • Experience within early brand lifecycle and experience leading HCP and Consumer brand strategy
