Software Development Engineer for Implementations

About Your Role

Fiserv is a global leader in financial services technology, and our EBRS Products organization is at the forefront of digital payment innovation. As a Software Development Engineer for Implementations, you will play a critical role in building AI-driven automation and software applications for our SnapPay and BillMatrix products. You will work with cross-functional teams to design and deploy high-quality solutions that streamline the implementation function and directly benefit our global clients.

What You’ll Do:

  • AI & Automation Development: Lead the design and development of AI capabilities specifically for the implementation function to enhance product delivery and efficiency.
  • Product Innovation: Identify and contribute to enhancements for SnapPay and BillMatrix, partnering with Engineering teams to design, develop, test, and deploy technical solutions.
  • Full-Lifecycle Engineering: Lead the design and implementation of software applications, performing coding, testing, and debugging to ensure optimal performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal and external stakeholders—including client IT teams, ERP, and payment gateway teams—to support automated implementations.
  • Requirement Translation: Collaborate with teams to gather complex requirements and translate them into actionable technical specifications.
  • System Maintenance: Maintain existing codebases while leading peer review processes to ensure high engineering standards.
  • Incident Management: Analyze and document system incidents with the technical detail necessary to enable efficient troubleshooting of complex problems.

Experience You’ll Need to Have:

  • Core Experience: 6+ years in software development, with hands-on experience in Fintech, payments software, or B2B/e-commerce environments.
  • Programming Mastery: 4+ years of professional experience with Java and Python. Strong fundamentals in Node.js are required for full-stack automation workflows.
  • Advanced Automation Engineering: 3+ years of experience designing and scaling both frontend and backend automation tools. Must demonstrate proficiency in state management and asynchronous process handling within automation frameworks.
  • Pipeline & CI/CD: Demonstrated experience building and maintaining robust automation pipelines within a DevOps ecosystem.
  • Database Expertise: 3+ years of experience working with SQL databases.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: 3+ years of experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP services, alongside deep proficiency in CI/CD and DevOps practices.
  • Agile Methodology: 3+ years of experience working within Agile frameworks.

Experience That Would Be Great to Have:

  • AI/ML Implementation: 2+ years of experience implementing AI/ML solutions or 1+ years with Generative AI services.
  • Payments Domain Knowledge: Knowledge of card payment flows (tokenization, authorization, settlement, etc.).
  • Enterprise ERP Integration: Proven experience integrating large-scale systems such as Oracle JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, and SAP ECC.
  • Advanced Scripting: Proficiency in Linux/Unix shell scripting for backend task automation.

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
