Job Description

At Depop, we have ambitious plans to significantly expand our presence in the United States, and to achieve this vision, we are seeking a dynamic Strategic Inventory Manager focused on Inventory Growth. This role is crucial in helping us identify the most promising inventory opportunities and addressing gaps within the Depop US market.

As Strategic Inventory Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of new and expanding inventory categories in the Depop US market. You will proactively delve into the behaviours and critical metrics that underpin our key categories, using this valuable knowledge to shape and lead cross-functional initiatives aimed at fostering growth. 

Collaboration is central to this position, as you will work closely with diverse teams, including Product, Seller, Marketing, Insights, and PR. The ideal candidate will possess a distinctive blend of commercial acumen, product knowledge, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyse, and disseminate the key metrics associated with Depop’s inventory in the US

  • Identify opportunities for growth in the US as it relates to inventory, e.g. new/ emerging categories, high value categories, category price positioning including understanding drivers and barriers for growth 

  • Design, Test and Action new and existing levers working cross-functionally to drive the performance of these categories (i.e. Incentives, Customer experience, Seller education, Seller acquisition)

  • Communicate and articulate plans cross functionally and influence to ensure buy in from key stakeholders for smooth execution

  • Provide inventory insights to facilitate Product experimentation

Qualifications

  • A strong background in a digital B2C or C2C environment, ideally in e-commerce, or a consumer facing online platform plus previous experience and/or a keen interest in Fashion - and a thorough understanding of the US Market

  • Experience in Category Management at a Marketplace or eCommerce website

  • Data-Driven Approach: Utilise data analysis and insights to inform decision-making and continuously refine strategies for achieving rapid growth.

  • Agility: Embrace a dynamic and adaptable mindset, with the ability to pivot quickly and experiment with various tactics to identify what works best.

  • Analytical Skills: Possess strong analytical abilities to interpret data, identify patterns, and make data-driven decisions to optimise growth efforts.

  • Proven track record of strategic planning and execution working cross-functionally, taking a project from idea to full implementation 

  • Strong structured thinking and communication skills plus commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mentality

  • You will also have a sense of integrity, commercial agility, strategy, operational maturity, and accountability
