Director of Carrier Voice Sales

The Sales Director is responsible for leading and developing a team of Account Managers focused on managing and growing a base of existing VoIP Innovations customers. Reporting directly to the SVP of Carrier Voice, this role blends player-coach responsibilities with strategic oversight. The Sales Manager drives revenue through effective team leadership, account development, and cross-sell/up-sell initiatives. This is a metrics-driven role that requires strong communication, leadership, and technical aptitude.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, mentor, and coach a team of 5 Account Managers focused on existing customer retention and revenue growth.
- Work closely with each team member to set quotas, define KPIs, and ensure accountability to daily/weekly/monthly targets.
- Monitor team activity including 20+ outbound calls per rep per day and a team goal of 200+ customer reviews per month.
- Collaborate with the team on account strategy, solution positioning, and closing tactics to drive monthly recurring revenue growth.
- Conduct regular pipeline reviews and deal coaching to support team performance.
- Provide performance feedback, regular 1:1s, and sales training as needed.
- Review and approve proposals, quotes, and custom solutions developed by Account Managers.
- Ensure Salesforce CRM hygiene across all team activities and produce weekly reports on team performance, forecast accuracy, and pipeline health.
- Partner with internal departments (Product, Marketing, Support) to surface customer needs, advocate for enhancements, and ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Stay informed on the competitive landscape and industry trends to guide team positioning and approach.
Qualifications:
- Proven success managing a high-performance inside sales team, preferably in telecom or SaaS.
- Strong track record in B2B sales with experience in account expansion and customer retention.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience developing team quotas and managing to KPIs.
- Familiarity with Salesforce.com and a data-driven management approach.
- Technical aptitude with the ability to grasp VoIP technologies and coach reps on solution design.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
