Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for managing the individualized patient care by promoting and restoring patients' health through the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; and supervising assigned team members. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on AWOHNN and NRP standards of care and professional nursing practice; accountable for the outcomes of nursing care delivered.

Essential Functions:

• Circulating with c-sections, recovering patients post c-section, and pre-oping c-section patients.
• Ensure documentation is completed on patients.
• Provide Medication Safety with BMV scanning, hand hygiene, patient identification, medication reconciliation, and patient medication education.
• Participate in monthly review/unit progress meetings with Clinical Director

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred. 

Experience:   

• Minimum two (2) years of acute nursing experience.

Licenses/Certifications:

• RN Licensure with South Carolina Board of Nursing.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required. If not certified, must obtain Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 30 days of employment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed with the Tidelands Health Organizational Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date (exceptions to obtain certification from a provider other than the TH Organizational Development Office are approved by TH Organizational Development on a case-by-case basis).  BLS Recertification is required every two (2) years.
• ACLS preferred.

Physical Requirements: Medium Physical Agility Test (PAT) Rating

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert 20 to 35 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
