About the role

Christopherson Business Travel, a globally recognized leader in Travel Management, is looking for a Travel Advisor to join our team. This position will provide timely and accurate automated servicing of travel arrangements for all travelers for our dedicated on-site at the University of Utah. We take great pride in providing the highest degree of customer support, directly through our consultative approach to managing our clients’ corporate travel needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide business travel services through the computer, focusing on client’s corporate policy and select suppliers where applicable. This includes air, rail, car, hotel and sometimes personal travel.
  • Organize and fulfill travel plans for all aspects of group travel, including air, car, hotel and transfers.
  • Counsel clients on efficient routes, lowest available fares, exchange rates, travel products and Christopherson Business Travel services in response to identified specific client needs by effective use and knowledge of the airline industry.
  • Ensure optimum customer service capabilities through the effective use of phone systems and positive telephone service techniques, and positive face-to-face communications.
  • Act on travel requests including those which may have complex and lengthy specifications.
  • Accurately utilize and maintain automated client profile to ensure traveler’s preferences are satisfied.
  • Provide clients with accurate travel related sources for information to assist with enroute changes and unexpected situations.
  • Utilize reservation equipment in an accurate, timely and proficient manner to support account development efforts and maintain quality of service.
  • Be available and responsive to our clients at all times during normal operating hours.
  • Other duties may include internal client requests and duties not necessarily related to travel.
  • Responsible for knowing the travel policies of accounts serviced by their office.
  • Work as part of the overall office team assisting others when their own workload is down.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of GDS reservation experience with a full-service agency (Worldspan preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Working knowledge of travel agency operations, industry procedure, and agency accounting
  • Excellent customer service skills – equally comfortable with phone and email interactions
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Timely and effective problem solving

Salary Range: $25 per hour


The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range and is determined by several factors that may include but are not limited to interdepartmental equity, candidate experience, skills, education and training, location, licenses, and certifications or needs of the organization. Full time roles will also qualify for our total benefits package offered by Christopherson Business Travel.
