Under general supervision, manages and supervises functions of nursing services within region in order to ensure effective delivery of nursing services and compliance with administrative and clinical policies and procedures. Reports to a Director.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Manage, supervise, and coordinate the delivery of nursing services.
- Ensure compliance with clinical /patient care standards and established policies and procedures.
- Observes and monitors student health; and documents treatments and/or medical concerns on the student charts.
- Participates in the development of nursing services strategic and operational planning.
- Participates in establishing communication between nursing staff and other health care professionals and administration.
- Plans and conducts meetings with nursing staff to ensure compliance with established practices and to keep nursing staff abreast of current policies and procedures and documents such meetings.
- Assist in the selection, provision and control of resources required for subsequent performance of duties to include equipment, supplies, space and facilities, ensuring cost containment and to optimize work environment.
- Assists in the development of the facility infection control program and coordinates its implementation.
- Serves as a professional role model and mentor to staff by responding positively to change while supporting colleagues through the change process. Serves as a change agent to facilitate communication and transition that supports the organization's mission.
- Maintains required records, reports and statistics for administrative purposes to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, quality improvement and infection control.
- Participates in the development and enforcement of all applicable nursing services policies and procedures.
- Conducts various personnel action including hiring, orientation/training, performance appraisals, disciplinary action, termination and other related activities.
- Provide feedback and education to nursing staff regarding expectations and duties.
- Participates in facility-wide meetings and committees as needed.
