Test Technician I - Medical Devices

The Test Technician I will support the Production and Manufacturing Engineering teams in all aspects of product testing and verification testing of complex medical devices through the manufacturing processes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Candidate must be proficient in all requirements of Technician I.
- Directly responsible for production electrical testing, by performing daily production testing of camera video systems.
- Capable of testing electronic components, sub-assemblies, and video systems following documented procedures.
- Tests products using computer programs, Digital Multi Meters, Oscilloscopes, light measurement equipment, waveform monitoring equipment, digital and analog electrical test equipment.
- Performs detailed electrical tests, document device history records per Good Manufacturing Practice guidelines.
- Participates in company training activities in support of medical device manufacturing.
- Records test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data.
- Records test failures and documents for MRB, repair or component replacement.
- Manages tasks related to multiple production duties, prioritize and respond to special assigned duties.
- Operates a variety of hand-operated tools and electronic equipment to manufacture products specified on work orders using standard work instructions and Inspection procedures.
- Performs inspection of work completed and documentation to assure correct specifications and functional criteria have been met.
- Performs area clearance by clearing and cleaning in work area to maintain material traceability.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 6 months on the job training and/or education in electronics design, repair and troubleshooting required.
- 2 years of work experience in an electronics environment preferred.
- Experience in system analysis, testing, troubleshooting to component or board level preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, including electrical test processes and procedures preferred.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
- Knowledgeable in electronics testing.
- Able to operate and maintain production test equipment.
- Capable of testing electronic components, sub-assemblies, and video systems.
- Understanding of electrical safety testing preferred.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of FDA and ISO 13485 guidelines for the manufacture of medical devices preferred.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
- Knowledge of electronics test equipment such as Digital Multi Meters, Oscilloscopes, Video waveform monitor, Lumens measurement and various Light measurement equipment.
- Skilled in bench top testing and troubleshooting with standard test equipment in a production environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office, PCs, tablets, schematic capture, and office equipment.
