Process Research & Development Co-op

Orna Therapeutics, Inc. is a Watertown-based biotechnology startup on a mission to create therapies for diseases inaccessible to existing approaches. Built on novel circular RNA technology developed at MIT, Orna is leading the next wave of RNA therapeutics with our best-in-class expression and delivery platform. We are seeking an exceptional Process R&D Co-op to join our team. The candidate’s primary responsibility will be to assist in the manufacturing of Orna’s drug substance and/or drug product. Additionally, this candidate will assist in execution of experiments to develop platform manufacturing capabilities and scale-up for Orna’s drug substance, from preclinical studies through proof-of-concept clinical studies. The ideal candidate will possess strong oral and written communication capabilities, demonstrate excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills, and be adept at problem solving in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute large scale productions of high quality oRNA and/or oRNA-LNPs for in vitro and in vivo studies.
• Help develop Orna’s scale-up capability for GMP manufacturing of circular RNA and/or encapsulated LNPs.
• Assist with process development experiments, analysis of data, and present findings; maintain lab notebook, inventory, and protocols.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, chemistry, biology, or related field
• Experience with nucleic acid, nanoparticle, large molecule or novel biomanufacturing technologies is a plus.
• Highly organized and can collaborate on execution of multiple parallel initiatives.
• Detail oriented, self-motivated, and excited to take on new challenges!
