About This Opportunity
This is a high-impact role where you’ll lead the revenue recognition process, support billing and collaborate cross-functionally to refine and optimize our systems, process’ and controls. We are seeking an individual with strong technical revenue recognition/accounting experience in both a license and subscription based software company, including “on premise”.
This role will report to the Corporate Controller.
This role is remote, with occasional travel to Mountain View, California.
What You Will Do
- Own the end-to-end revenue recognition process, including ensuring revenue recognition adherence under ASC 606.
- Partner with sales operations and the general accounting team to manage invoicing and deferred revenue.
- Lead month-end close activities including revenue-related journal entries, reconciliations and reporting.
- Support and implement system, process, and control improvements in revenue, billing and accounts receivable functions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, Finance, Accounting, and Operations to evaluate contracts and revenue implications.
- Maintain audit readiness through solid technical accounting and documentation and internal controls.
- Leverage systems including NetSuite ARM and Salesforce to continue to streamline the automation and improve revenue processes.
- Support technical accounting for commissions under ASC 340.
What We Are Looking For
- 5-10 years of revenue accounting experience, in a software company with license and subscription revenue (“on premise”).
- Proven experience with ASC 606, ASC 340 and revenue recognition under US GAAP.
- Public accounting (Big 4 or similar) preferred.
