By joining the Emergency Department team as a Team Center Coordinator, you will provide top-quality customer service to patients, families and visitors to promote and support the best healthcare experience possible. You will perform various administrative and clerical duties to ensure efficient operational flow within the department while offering direct patient care under the supervision of an RN. This role offers you a unique opportunity to enhance both your management and nursing skills in a welcoming, encouraging environment.
A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM – 7:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients.
Respond to patient call lights and make rounds.
Communicate and facilitate communication with patients, families, other departments and health care team members regarding patient care.
Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources.
Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.
Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices.
