Sr Director – Tech Strategy 

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Director to lead our technology strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing technology strategies that align with our business goals and drive innovation and growth. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including executives, IT leaders, and business stakeholders, to define and execute the technology roadmap. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully developing and implementing technology strategies in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. 

Key job functions: 

• Develop and drive the overall technology strategy in alignment with the company's business objectives.  

• Drive and develop simplification of systems (Monoliths to Microservice) Roadmaps and execution. 

• Collaborate with tech and business leaders to understand their needs and identify opportunities for technology solutions and develop long range technology and architecture plans.  

• Lead the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies to drive innovation and enhance efficiency. 

• Define and prioritize technology initiatives based on business value, feasibility, and alignment with the strategic vision. 

• Provide leadership and guidance to the technology teams, ensuring effective execution of technology projects and initiatives. 

• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the technology organization. 

• Monitor industry trends and developments to identify opportunities and potential risks. 

• Collaborate with external partners and vendors to leverage technology expertise and stay ahead of the curve. 

• Manage technology budgets, resource allocation, and vendor relationships. 

• Communicate technology strategy and progress to executive leadership and stakeholders. 

• Partner with open-source community for adoption of open-source software here at GEICO. 

 

Qualifications:  

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.  

• 10+ years proven experience in Tech Leadership role. 

• Deep understanding of modern technology architecture and frameworks. 

• Strong understanding of technology trends, digital transformation, and emerging technologies. 

• Strong strategic thinking and vision, with the ability to translate ideas into actionable plans. 

• Proven experience building influential and impactful relationships internally and externally to lead and drive change. 

• Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

• Excellent problem-solving skills, proactive, and ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment. 

• Flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced work environment. 

• Diplomatic communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels

• Exceptional emotional intelligence - adept at understanding people, active listening, and serving as a valuable sounding board for others

• Outstanding communicator, able to present ideas verbally, in writing, formally and informally

• Ability to collaborate, influence and provide recommendations to drive decision-making and execution

 

Annual Salary

$195,000.00 - $315,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
