We are seeking a motivated and experienced Principal Engineer Project Manager to lead and oversee operational sustainment and material projects. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the successful planning, execution, and delivery of projects while fostering collaboration among cross-functional teams. This is an onsite position based in Phoenix, AZ.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and manage Materials Engineering project scope and schedules from cradle to first delivery
  • Lead multiple medium to large projects ($500K+) delivering on-cost, on-schedule and on-technical execution
  • Manage project risks, assumptions and dependencies
  • Prepare progress reports and key project performance metrics including CPI/SPI/EAC
  • Support vendor/supplier/contractor oversight, ensuring alignment with project objectives
  • Provide regular status updates on projects to leadership, project sponsors, customers, and other stakeholders
  • Facilitate communication between functional groups, stakeholders and customers
  • Align project schedules with the Work Breakdown Structure to ensure proper planning, monitoring and control
  • Identify, communicate, and resolve project issues in collaboration with project stakeholders
  • Ensure scope changes are identified, documented, and communicated to the program manager for appropriate action
  • Support continuous improvement in maturing standards, procedures, and tools for effective project management practices
  • Mentor early-career professionals by providing guidance, support, and knowledge sharing to enhance team capabilities  

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 year
