Footwear Designer Visualization 3D: Become the Newest Member of the Vans Family

This role will be responsible for generating forward thinking footwear and apparel concepts, high quality 3D models, and will help lead adoption of new and cutting-edge visualization tools and design methods.  This role will work closely with internal innovation teams as well as external vendors and co-creators to visualize future concepts and to create impactful representations of seasonal designs.

How You Will Make a Difference:

• Leverage GenAI, Adobe, and CAD to generate innovative and advanced footwear concepts based on new technology developments
• Collaborate with 3D modelers to generate high quality visuals/presentations from 3D assets for various departments
• Assist product teams in various categories with incorporating 3D tools in their design process
• Research new technologies, materials and applications to share with the product teams              

Skills for Success:

Years of Related Professional Experience: 4+ 3D Design Experience

Educational/ Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or equivalent education from a in the Industrial Design discipline, Computer Science and/or Mechanical Engineering or related experience at a technical school focused on digital arts
• Required texturing/rendering software experience: (i.e. Rhino, Unreal, etc)
• Preferred software experience: GenAI (MidJourney, ChatGPT, Veo2/3, Vizcom, and other AI tools), CAD/Render (Rhino, Maya, Blender, Unreal, etc.)
• High level of Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere or similar programs
• While this will focus on footwear , digital apparel experience is a plus (Browzwear)
• Proficient with business computer software (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Apple Keynote)
• Experience with and footwear design cycles and go-to-market timing

• Experience in developing advanced concepts
• Experience working in Spacial Computing with Mixed/Augmented Reality and/or Virtual Reality a plus
• Experience with whiteboarding tools such as Figjam, Miro, etc.
• Experience prototyping new design tools and technologies
• Experience with 3D printing files and outputs a plus
