JOB SUMMARY
Under direct supervision, designs and implements small research information systems. Exhibits desire and ability to learn to use a variety of research computer software tools and operating system environments.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree with computer courses; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience in computer programming.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs programming for all phases of database design, development, management and reporting for small projects.
- Contributes programming segments to larger projects under supervision of higher level analyst/programmer.
- Consults with users on project design needs for small projects. Maintains a professional relationship with project personnel.
- Maintains software and troubleshoot simple software products.
- Performs simple data transfers and conversions.
- Creates and maintains user manuals and documentation of software products for small projects.
- Designs and implements a comprehensive software testing plan for software products developed.
- Performs other related duties incidental to work described herein.
