Programmer/Analyst I, Biomedical Engineering

JOB SUMMARY

Under direct supervision, designs and implements small research information systems. Exhibits desire and ability to learn to use a variety of research computer software tools and operating system environments.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree with computer courses; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience in computer programming.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Performs programming for all phases of database design, development, management and reporting for small projects.
2. Contributes programming segments to larger projects under supervision of higher level analyst/programmer.
3. Consults with users on project design needs for small projects. Maintains a professional relationship with project personnel.
4. Maintains software and troubleshoot simple software products.
5. Performs simple data transfers and conversions.
6. Creates and maintains user manuals and documentation of software products for small projects.
7. Designs and implements a comprehensive software testing plan for software products developed.
8. Performs other related duties incidental to work described herein.
