Job Description

We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Porter to join our bustling kitchen team in Cashel Palace Hotel. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen operations.

• Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to maintain high hygiene standards
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen staff
• Operate dishwashing equipment and ensure all dishes, cutlery, and cookware are properly cleaned and stored
• Manage waste disposal and recycling in accordance with health and safety regulations
• Receive and store deliveries, ensuring proper organisation of the storage areas
• Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
• Support the kitchen team during busy periods by performing various ad-hoc tasks
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety guidelines

Qualifications

• Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and cleaning techniques
• Understanding of food safety principles and hygiene standards
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
• Team-oriented mindset with a supportive attitude
• Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred
• Food safety certification is desirable
• Ability to commute to the job location in Cashel, Co. Tipperary, Ireland
