Position Overview

 

If you’re someone with construction equipment operation experience who is looking for the next step in your career, our team can provide you with a fun and challenging opportunity to grow with an industry leader. In this role, you’ll operate a paving screed or roller, along with various other types of heavy equipment, in order to pave asphalt. You’ll work with a team on projects big and small as we work together to build our communities. You’ll play an integral part as we stand together to reinvent the way our world is built.

Wage: $23.00-$35.50/hr DOE w/ potential for overtime. Work could include Davis Bacon Wages and Non-Davis Bacon Wages.

 

What You Can Do (Minimum Qualifications)

• You have a background in heavy civil construction, specifically asphalt paving. (3-6 years).

• You’re an effective leader who is skilled in directing other employees.
• You’re passionate about providing coaching, mentoring, and feedback, as well as promoting a safe working environment for all employees.

• You have excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work well with a wide range of personality types.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently by utilizing equipment within its designed parameters.
• Operate asphalt paver and/or screed to apply asphalt per plan and quality specifications, as instructed by crew superintendent to ensure daily schedules/estimates are met.
• Responsible for proper compaction and smoothing of asphalt.
• Make normal adjustments for obtaining proper depth, grade and finished cross section of asphalt material via screed controls.
