Job Summary
Responsibilities
Design and execute lab experiments such as ELISA, in situ hybridization, DNA/RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis, ddPCR and blood processing.
Organize and track internal and external blood and tissue samples.
Utilize research methods requiring a high degree of proficiency to achieve established research objectives.
Evaluate existing methods and objectives and investigate, develop, and implement solutions to problems.
Effectively communicates, coordinates, and troubleshoots team-based research efforts through participation in laboratory and research meetings.
Maintain clear, accurate, complete, and timely reports of experiments.
Help with ordering and tracking supplies and equipment.
Supervise and train medical students and other laboratory volunteers and staff in research techniques, instruments, laboratory methods, procedures, and safety.
Help monitor compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives, and mandates.
Draft manuscripts for submission and prepare grants for submission.
Assist PI with publications. May attend meetings and seminars as directed by the PI.
May provide basic histological techniques as instructed.
Support data collection and analytical needs of research projects.
Ensure project compliance with different policies, procedures, directives, and mandates.
Installs, sets up and performs experiments; interacting with students and other laboratory staff under the direction of the principal investigator.
Maintains recruiting and scheduling research subjects; assisting with developing or amending study protocols; assisting with developing data collection tools; assisting with building databases; and providing general administrative support. Has general awareness in research techniques or methods, regulatory policies and procedures, and relevant scientific field.
Performs other related work as needed.
