Job Description:
The Student Worker assists the Financial Aid Office staff with day-to-day administrative tasks, customer service, and basic clerical duties.

- Must maintain confidentiality of student records in compliance with FERPA regulations
- Must be a currently enrolled student in good standing at Butler University
- Must be eligible for student employment (Federal Work-Study or Institutional Work Program, if applicable)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
- Detail-oriented, organized, and reliable
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), especially working on analytics in Excel
- Professional demeanor and a willingness to learn
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous office or customer service experience
- Familiarity with financial aid terminology or processes is a plus
Job Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist students, parents, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
- Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to appropriate staff members
- Provide general information about financial aid processes and deadlines
- File, scan, copy, and organize financial aid documents
- Assist with data entry and updating student records in internal databases
- Prepare outgoing mail and distribute incoming mail when needed
- Support staff during financial aid events, workshops, and orientations
- Perform other clerical tasks and special projects as assigned
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Comply with University standards and policies
- Ensure confidentiality of information
Learning Outcomes:
Office Assistant will gain experience working in an office setting and obtain skills in areas such as customer service, office etiquette, organization and professionalism. Student will also gain skills in problem solving and communication.
