Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Senior Project Manager (Sr. PM). The Senior Project Manager will serve as the University’s on-site leader overseeing the planning, design, and construction of the stadium renovation project. Acting as the primary liaison between the University, design teams, contractors, and key stakeholders, this role ensures the project is delivered safely on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with our clients vision for a modern, high-performing athletic facility. The Sr. PM provides strategic direction, technical oversight, and day-to-day management of all project activities—from early concept development through construction and final turnover—while upholding the highest standards of quality, transparency, and client service.
This person will be responsible but not limited to the following:
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead day-to-day management of the stadium renovation program from concept through closeout.
- Develop, monitor, and update detailed project schedules (P6 or equivalent) and budgets.
- Oversee preconstruction activities including programming, cost estimating, constructability review, and value engineering.
- Manage the procurement and contracting process for architects, engineers, and contractors.
- Oversee construction administration, site inspections, and field coordination to ensure adherence to project goals and specifications.
Stakeholder & Client Coordination
- Serve as primary point of contact for the University’s Facilities, Athletics, and Finance teams.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to university leadership, boards, and committees.
- Facilitate coordination between athletics operations, academic schedules, and construction activities to minimize disruption to campus and events.
- Lead regular project meetings and maintain comprehensive meeting minutes, action logs, and progress reports.
Risk, Quality, and Safety Management
- Identify and mitigate project risks related to cost escalation, schedule slippage, and construction logistics.
- Enforce compliance with applicable building codes, NCAA facility standards, ADA, and campus safety requirements.
- Coordinate environmental, structural, and geotechnical assessments as required.
- Oversee commissioning, punch list, warranty, and turnover documentation.
Financial Management
- Track all project expenditures and change orders; maintain transparent cost controls and reporting.
- Review pay applications, contingency usage, and cost-to-complete forecasts.
- Support grant or donor-funded capital tracking and audit documentation as required by the University.
Team & Consultant Oversight
- Direct and coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, and specialty consultants (e.g., structural, MEP, audio/visual, seating, and sports lighting).
- Manage project controls staff and interface with document control systems (e.g., e-Builder, Procore).
- Provide mentorship and guidance to assistant project managers or junior staff assigned to the project.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in project management and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
- Experience with project controls platforms (e.g., e-Builder, Procore, or similar).
- Strong understanding of contract administration, construction documentation, and change management.
- Ability to interpret design drawings, technical specifications, and NCAA facility standards.
