About the role

The Head of Electrical Engineering manages the enhancement and advancement of our analyzer electronics while ensuring projects are delivered on time, with quality, within budget, and according to technical specifications and standards. Collaboration with other departments and a team-oriented approach are crucial for success in the role. 

 

Role + Responsibilities  

  • Utilize expertise to define design requirements and evaluate the impact of design decisions on the performance of our analyzers. 
  • Set development standards and work closely with marketing to incorporate innovative solutions that meet future product requirements. 
  • Facilitate a smooth transition from development to production. 
  • Stay abreast of latest technological advancements and industry trends and ensure integration of best practices. 
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to the electrical engineering team and ensure effective product development and team success. 
  • Develop and implement the department’s vision, strategy, and goals, and prepare action plans to ensure long-term success. 
  • Network with other Endress+Hauser electrical engineering departments. 
  • Formulate a strategy to retain essential expertise within the company while outsourcing other tasks to contractors. 

 

Qualification + Profile  

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering is required. 
  • Excellent leadership with minimum of 3 years’ experience managing a team 
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in mixed signal circuit design 
  • Knowledge of embedded hardware design, DSP, Spice, C/C++, VHDL, FPGAs 
  • Familiarity with EMC and EMI, as well as intrinsically safe designs 
  • Experience forming a roadmap/strategy 
  • Familiarity with standard engineering documentation procedures (e.g. Eos, ECNs, etc.) 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines 
  • Wiki documentation usage, maintenance, and support (Atlassian preferred) 
  • Experience with product design practices 

Travel Requirements: 

20%
