About the role

Purpose

The position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for overall leadership of operations. As a member of the senior leadership team, the COO drives change and sets in place the strategic operational plans and goals that further the organization’s mission and objectives. The COO directly partners with the Chief Health Officer and Chief Financial Officer to create highly effective clinical programs, forms effective partnerships with other senior leadership team members and regularly represent the organization in a variety of community and external settings and meetings.

In this position you will:

  • Establish key working relationships with members of senior leadership, clinical leaders and other members of Neighborcare
  • Provide strategic direction in the development and successful advancement of clinical programs such as Primary Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, School Based Health, Housing and Homeless Outreach, Pharmacy, Lab and Imaging Services.
  • Assure effective oversight and resource utilization of clinical programs’ operating Assure effective program expansion and integration of acquired entities and or partnerships and programs to serve Neighborcare Health mission and community focus.
  • Oversee and effectively evolve population health, quality and process improvement departments and improvement efforts ).
  • Provide oversite and lead Neighborcare Health‘s facility portfolio, planning and maintenance Manage direct report staff including completion of annual individual learning objectives and performance reviews, recruitment, hiring, orientation, retention, development and corrective action, as needed.
  • Model and mentor direct reports in appropriate leadership development, succession planning and problem solving and positive
  • Lead and participate in quality-of-care initiatives and process improvement efforts and achieve Maintain professionalism, business, and patient and staff confidentiality.
  • Ensures that business operations are efficient, effective and are aligned with strategic goals.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates policies and procedures aimed at standardizing services in a systematic manner that assures quality, safety, and reduction of environmental hazards for staff and clients.
  • Responsible for seeking and /or implementing business development opportunities that will increase the growth of Neighborcare Health.
  • Partners with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs and securing of new funding for the health center.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the CEO.

    Required qualifications:

    • Master of Arts or Master of Science in Health Care Administration, Public Health, Business Administration or related area  
    • Minimum ten (10) years’ progressive health care management experience, preferably in a primary care medical group or community health center environment

    • Experience working in an ethnically and culturally diverse work place environment
