Position Summary:
The Corporate Paralegal will provide organizational and practice specific assistance to attorneys in the Department in all stages of transactions from pre- to post-closing duties. The ability to take ownership of projects, strong organization skills and attention to detail are essential. This candidate must be able to multi-task and prioritize as well as have a strong client service orientation. This role requires working collaboratively in a team environment as well as working independently.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepares and drafts routine correspondence/memorandum and emails.
Maintains and updates physical and electronic files.
Obtains and organizes signature pages.
Assists attorneys with organization of due diligence materials.
Performs basic document review and light research.
Drafts and prepares UCCs and corporate formation documents.
Drafts and updates closing checklists.
Prepares closing and post-closing documents.
Prepares closing binders.
Maintains timely and accurate timekeeping records.
Executes other administrative and project work assignments, as assigned.
Skills & Competencies:
Candidates must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to be a proactive self-starter, be extremely organized and detail oriented.
Excellent client service skills and ability to work on multiple matters simultaneously in an organized manner and under minimal supervision.
Flexible and able to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands.
Demonstrated attention to detail, reliability and ability to learn and adapt to new technology quickly.
Ability to work overtime on an as-needed basis.
Position also requires the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
Qualifications & Prior Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution preferred.
Paralegal certificate from an ABA certified paralegal program and notary a plus.
Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat required.
Working knowledge or experience in a law firm or legal environment is helpful.
The expected pay range for this position is:
$34.42 to $43.16 per hour
Salary will be determined based upon education, experience, job related factors permitted by law, internal equity, and market data, including geographic pay differentials in locations where market pay differs from the national average. Full time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, short term disability, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, 401K, vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program.
