Primary Objective:
The Software Engineering Manager is a full stack engineer who is passionate about the Spectrio products and mission while focused on leading a team of software engineers and well versed in different aspects of software engineering and design. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This position has direct supervisory responsibilities
• Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department
• Oversees the daily workflow of the department
• Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
• Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy

Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with company leaders to help shape product strategy and deliver impactful products for our customers
• Define and maintain technology objectives and initiatives
• Lead technology team responsible for all software and hardware
• Be a true leader for your team and act as a technical mentor, provide hands-on coaching with different aspects of coding, software development and design and other aspects as needed
• Manage all technology activities within a department including design, development, production and testing
• Oversee project management process and delivery timelines to keep projects on schedule and on budget
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or closely related field preferred
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 2+ years of experience directly managing Software Engineers
• Experience with managing people and projects on multiple tech stacks including: .NET Core, Ruby, Python, Angular, Typescript/Javascript
• Additional Tech experience: 
  • Experience in Web Development 
  • Linux experience a plus
  • Experience with OOP and software design skills
  • Cloud hosting services, specifically Amazon AWS (RDS)
  • Mobile development (Android, iPhone) 
  • Container services, e.g. Docker
  • Working knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment
• Agile software development methodologies (using Jira, Confluence)
• Experience with managing QA resources
• Strong ability to develop systems that meet architectural objectives including reusable, scalable code
• Manage all engineering activities within a department including design, development, production and testing
• Analytical and detail-oriented with decisive judgment skills
