The role of campus Faculty members is to engage students, foster learning, role model professionalism, and ultimately produce competently trained students prepared for professional careers.nBUSINESS CONTRIBUTIONS: Faculty and instructional staff are responsible for leveraging their expertise to deliver education services to students through:nnDelivering course lecturesnFacilitating student engagementnWorking one-on-one with studentsnAssessing students and providing developmental feedbacknnnESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:nPrepare Course Plans and Materials:nnReview Course Control Document (CCD)nPrepare syllabusnCreate lesson plansnCreate exams, quizzes, and projects/assignmentsnCoordinate with librarian and bookstore for availability of materialsnnnDeliver Courses:nnAdminister pre-test/post-testnDeliver lectures/facilitate labsnGrade projects and examsnProvide progress reports/mid-term feedbacknMaintain grade booknEnforce policies (attendance, dress code, no food and drink...)nnnMonitor Progress/Attendance:nnMonitor student progress and follow-up as needednTake daily attendance and enforce attendance policynFollow-up with students who miss a class (phone calls)nReport attendance issues to the DeannnnAdvise Students:nnAnswer student questionsnBe available for one-on-one assistance/tutoringnnnRecord Grades and Submit Reports:nnMaintain grade booksnAdhere to departmental grading policiesnProvide Dean with weekly reportsnProvide students with mid-term evaluationsnSubmit final gradesnnnOther Duties – Adjunct and Full-time Faculty:nnMonitor equipment and supply needsnMaintain classroomnMaintain any relevant licensures and certificationsnSeek out an approved substitute in case of faculty member's need for absencenParticipate in graduation ceremoniesnWork with Dean, Associate Dean, and other Faculty on retention plans and programsnnnOther Duties – Full-time Faculty:nnAttend campus faculty meetingsnWork with Program CoordinatorsnParticipate in committees and knowledge sharing forumsnPrepare for and participate in convocationnnnPHYSICAL DEMANDS:nThe physical demands are those required in a professional office setting and higher education teaching environment: communicating with coworkers, presenting to a classroom of students (virtual classrooms for on-line), demonstrating procedures and techniques, and getting to and from appropriate classes and offices.nnWORK ENVIRONMENT:nProfessional office setting: moderate noise levels; controlled indoor climate.nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.nnLOCATION:nThis position is an onsite position located at your campus unless otherwise determined by the Chancellor and/or designee. Faculty must also have knowledge of:nnAcademic instruction/course deliverynAdult learningnCourse and curriculum developmentnn-Skills:nnClassroom Management – communicating with and facilitating discussions among a diverse range of non-traditional studentsnPlanning – organizing and following a standard course delivery plannn-Experience: Experience in an academic environment, and particularly in a career college environment, is of great importance. Work experience in the following areas is highly valued:nnAcademic teaching (higher education)nCareer college teaching/management (program/department chair)
