WHY WE’RE HERE


The ALTIUS Vehicle Management System Team builds, deploys, extends, and scales flight critical software for Anduril's ALTIUS family of systems. As the lead engineer on the ALTIUS Vehicle Management System (VMS), you and your team will solve technical challenges spanning navigation and localization, sensor integration, flight control mode development, validation and verification infrastructure, ALTIUS manufacturing, and deployment. While owning the end-to-end VMS application, you will be responsible for ensuring that ALTIUS works seamlessly to achieve a variety of critical outcomes by defining the product roadmap and executing it in an expedient, scalable, and pragmatic way.


WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead the design, development and implementation of our trusted, safety critical Vehicle Management Systems while balancing constraints, restrictions and requirements in a multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Develop real-time embedded software using C++ and Python
  • Leverage your technical expertise to tackle complex challenges and guide your team in building a robust, scalable and secure system.
  • Design and implement scalable vehicle management systems including sensor processing, state estimation, Navigation, contingency management, actuation, payload interfaces and mission system interfaces
  • Develop device drivers and interfaces to a variety of sensors and actuators
  • Create test and simulation fixtures that operate both software and hardware-in-the-loop


Core Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of C++ and Python experience in a Linux development environment
  • Robotics background with experience with GPS, GNSS or has worked with autopilot previously
  • Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases.
  • Proven experience leading small engineering teams to develop products that solve complex problems
  • Proven experience deploying software products at scale for safety critical systems
  • U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data
US Salary Range$117,300—$214,200 USD

 

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
