About the role

Position Summary

The Material Handler II is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient movement, storage, and tracking of materials within a warehouse and production environment. This role supports daily manufacturing and supply chain operations by ensuring materials are received, organized, delivered, and inventoried in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an MRP/ERP environment, operating material handling equipment, and maintaining inventory accuracy while supporting production schedules and shipping activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review production schedules, pull raw materials, and deliver materials to designated workstations.
  • Verify incoming materials for quantity and quality requirements; perform receiving transactions in the ERP system and properly store inventory.
  • Maintain accurate organization and storage of raw materials and inventory.
  • Perform routine inventory cycle counts and assist with inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Inventory Control and Production teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare products for outbound shipments.
  • Transport materials and finished goods between departments using hand trucks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
  • Maintain organized finished goods inventory and storage areas.
  • Safely operate forklifts and warehouse equipment to move products and materials throughout the facility.
  • Follow all company safety, quality, and operating procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to warehouse organization and inventory management.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in an MRP/ERP environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
  • Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse material handling equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to accurately complete inventory and system transactions.
  • Basic computer proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift certification preferred (training provided if needed).
  • Experience using UPS and FedEx shipping software.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or production environments.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.

  • Proficient computer skills and experience with inventory management systems.

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, hear, and use hands for handling, feeling, and manipulating objects.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, lift, lower, push, and pull materials.
  • Frequently lift, move, push, and/or pull up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift, move, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Must possess the visual abilities necessary to perform job duties, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Vision correction is permitted when it meets all applicable safety requirements.
