Summary:
The VP of Software Engineering is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects for a selection of products. The VP of Engineering works with the CTO and serves on the senior leadership team to grow the company through the use of technological resources and deliver on the development of fabric’s products. Using an active and practical approach, the VP of Engineering will direct all employees in development, quality assurance, software support, and program management to help attain the company’s strategic goals. The VP of Engineering plays an integral role in setting the company’s strategic direction, development and future growth, positioning the company’s service offering as a leader in the eCommerce Industry. The VP of Engineering role is critical to accelerating product innovation and scaling operations as part of continued market leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, high-performance transactional platforms for multi tenant SaaS architectures - Ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of the company's infrastructure to support rapid growth and changing business needs - Collaborate with product management, application teams, and other stakeholders to prioritize and deliver key platform features and enhancements - Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for engineering performance, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products and services - Implement best practices in software development, deployment, and operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness - Drive automation and DevOps practices to streamline processes and improve overall system reliability and performance - Serve as the primary owner of Security at fabric, leading all security-related initiatives and ensuring the company's data and infrastructure are protected against threats. - Develop and implement robust security policies, procedures, and practices to comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements - Develop and manage the engineering budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to meet business goals - Identify and address resource gaps, recruiting top talent to build a high-performing engineering team- Build real time dashboards for cost attribution and changes with targets to ensure best in class performance and cost effectiveness - Lead and manage the engineering teams responsible for platform, infrastructure, and security portfolios - Develop and execute the strategic vision for the engineering department, ensuring alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives - Mentor and develop engineering leaders and teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement - Work closely with executive leadership to align engineering initiatives with business objectives and ensure cross-functional collaboration - Communicate engineering strategies, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders, fostering transparency and trust - Represent the engineering department in executive meetings, providing technical insights and contributing to strategic decision-making - Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on the company's platform and infrastructure
