Overview
The Public Health Nurse supports health department efforts to improve vaccination rates in Windham and Windsor counties. The nurse will work collaboratively with Springfield district colleagues and community partners to identify immunization gaps and disparities in underserved populations. The work will focus on both child and adult vaccinations and will entail working on systems-level quality improvement projects with providers to help protect Vermonters against vaccine preventable diseases. It is a Limited Service position, which is non-tenured and authorized for a specific period of time. Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs.

Environmental Factors
Duties primarily performed in a standard office setting. Work may be performed in clinic settings and possibly client homes. Exposure to communicable diseases and other stressful situations may occur. Private means of transportation is required. May be required to work evenings, weekends and 12 hour shifts.

Associate's degree in nursing
