Job Description
Responsible for the research, design, development, analysis, testing, and implementation of software operating or application systems. Communicates project information to client, project manager, or other design personnel working on projects. Maintains good working relationships with clients and staff. Writes and maintains complete documentation. Supports team members and ensures established goals and deadlines are met. Keeps management informed of status and significant problems.

As a Software Engineer I (Python/Angular), you will help design, develop, test, and implement software solutions that support business and student-facing systems. You will contribute to high-quality, scalable applications while collaborating closely with engineering teams, project stakeholders, and operational partners. What You'll Do
- Maintain accountability for small, contained components within application architecture under the guidance of team leadership.
- Design, develop, test, and implement software operating and application systems.
- Interpret functional and non-functional requirements into designs and code that meet specifications.
- Identify gaps, risks, and deficiencies in requirements and propose effective solutions.
- Apply testing strategies that balance software quality, delivery timelines, and cost considerations.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and technical requirements for use by other team members.
- Collaborate effectively across teams, communicate project status, and contribute to successful on-time, on-budget, and on-scope project delivery.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 2 years of experience and a proven track record in developing web-based applications and web services using Python, Angular and AWS.
- Experience interfacing with databases and integrating third party products with existing infrastructure.
- Understanding of software development processes including planning, measurement, coding, testing, reuse, tools, abstraction, algorithms and complexity, security, and basic system understanding.
- Ability to create designs that achieve both functional and non-functional requirements while appropriately applying design patterns, system decomposition, security, and fault tolerance concepts.
- Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle models and practical considerations for selecting and applying them.
- Ability to identify risks, communicate effectively, contribute to a collaborative team environment, and demonstrate urgency in solving problems.
Experience in Lieu of Education
Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this job may substitute for education degree requirements. Generally, equivalent relevant experience is defined as 1 year of experience for 1 year of education and is at the discretion of the hiring manager.
