Role Overview
The Account Executive is responsible for driving profitable sales growth, managing strategic account relationships, and delivering best-in-class service execution across designated accounts. This role serves as a key commercial partner to both internal teams and retail customers, owning business performance from planning through execution.
The Account Executive brings strong knowledge of the women’s contemporary apparel market, a proactive sales mindset, and the ability to translate customer needs into actionable growth strategies that support both revenue and brand positioning.
Responsibilities
Business Ownership & Growth Strategy
- Own and execute account-specific sales strategies to drive topline growth, margin improvement, and inventory optimization
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, including expansion into new categories, doors, and programs
- Partner with Planning to build and manage seasonal forecasts, sales plans, and performance recaps
- Drive initiatives to maximize profitability, including managing excess inventory strategies and promotional planning
Account Leadership & Relationship Management
- Serve as primary commercial lead for assigned accounts, building strong relationships across merchant, planning, and executive levels
- Provide strategic guidance to customers on assortments, pricing, and product positioning to support mutual growth
- Lead all account communication related to business updates, opportunities, and issue resolution
Cross-Functional Execution
- Partner closely with Design, Production, Planning, and Client Services to ensure seamless execution from concept through delivery
- Communicate and manage business changes, including special customer requests, promotional programs, timeline shifts, and service needs
- Ensure alignment across internal teams to support account priorities and seasonal goals
Market & Product Leadership
- Develop deep expertise in product assortments, customer strategy, and competitive landscape
- Monitor marketplace trends through store visits, pricing analysis, assortment reviews, and feature tracking
- Translate market insights into actionable recommendations to improve sell-through and product performance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Marketing, Business, or related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in the apparel industry with account management responsibility, department stores experience a must
- Experience in women’s contemporary apparel a must
- Demonstrated success driving account growth and managing business performance
- Strong retail math, forecasting, and analytical capabilities
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Highly organized with strong project management and prioritization abilities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite specifically Excel
- Experience with NuOrder, Skypad, QlikView, or similar platforms a plus
- Ability to think strategically while executing in a fast-paced environment
- Domestic travel approximately 10%
This a hybrid role, with 4 days in our NYC office
PAY RATE: $80,000/yr-$95,000/yr
