About the role

Lob was founded in 2013 by technical co-founders with a vision to connect the world one mailbox at a time. Today, we're transforming the way businesses use direct mail and bringing the power of technology to a traditionally manual channel.

Our modern logistics and fulfillment engine helps businesses to build and scale high-quality, personalized direct mail programs without the operational burden. As we grow to meet the evolving needs of our customers and expand our product offerings, we’re building a team to shape the future of direct mail.

Director, Product Marketing

The Role

As the Director of Product Marketing, you will serve as the strategic anchor for the Product organization, owning the product’s positioning, messaging, and the creation of enablement materials to fuel Lob’s growth. In this high-impact role, you will bridge the gap between technical complexity and customer value. You are a strategic operator capable of turning product innovation into market leadership. You thrive in high-leverage roles where you define the vision and personally drive the execution engine to bring it to life. You will position Lob as the only choice for companies that want an agile, easy-to-use partner they can trust to unlock direct mail as a predictable and reliable customer communication channel, solidifying our role as a Trusted Advisor.

As a Director, Product Marketing you will…

  • Architect the Solution Narrative and Launch Strategy: Own the end-to-end go-to-market plan for new solutions and product updates. You will move beyond single launches to define how we position our product portfolio to drive adoption and articulate the customer business outcomes ensuring our message lands with impact across the entire customer lifecycle.
  • Drive Revenue & Sales Velocity: Partner with Sales leadership, the Head of GTM Strategy, and Director of Enablement to build a scalable enablement machine. You will create and own the core assets (competitive battle cards, objection-handling frameworks, solution design narratives and sales play documentation) that Enablement uses to train sellers how to diagnose the business problem and articulate why Lob is the modern standard for direct mail.
  • Lead Competitive Strategy & Market Intelligence: Lead the charge in partnership with the Revenue team and SMEs in defining how we win against a diverse competitive landscape. You will build distinct positioning and sales playbooks to effectively compete against both legacy commercial printers and newer programmatic solutions, ensuring our sales team understands exactly how to articulate our unique value against each.
  • Own Positioning & Messaging Architecture: Define the foundational messaging framework that powers downstream marketing. You will translate complex technical capabilities into a clear, high-altitude value proposition that resonates with both Engineering teams and Marketing/Ops executives.
  • Leverage AI as a Growth Multiplier: Utilize AI tools such as Lovable, Figma AI, Descript, and copilots to rapidly draft and scale onboarding assets, video scripts, and prototype flows. Treat AI as leverage to significantly extend your reach and impact, enabling you to operate with the output and efficiency of a small growth team.
  • Influence Pricing & Packaging: Partner with Product, Revenue Operations and Finance to evolve our pricing and packaging strategies. You will provide market data and buyer insights to help model structures that maximize adoption and revenue retention.
  • Serve as a Market Evangelist: Act as a subject matter expert and spokesperson for Lob. As opportunities arise, you will represent the company at key regional events, customer councils, and in press briefings, turning technical expertise into industry thought leadership.

What you will bring to this role:

  • 10+ years of GTM experience: Significant experience in Product Marketing or Product Management within high-growth enterprise software or SaaS.
  • Deep Competitive Strategy: You have a track record of winning in complex markets. You know how to conduct deep research to distinguish us from diverse competitors—ranging from traditional incumbents to emerging tech players—and translate that intel into winning sales plays.
  • Strategic Execution: You are a senior strategist who stays close to the work. You excel in roles where you drive impact through high-quality output and cross-functional influence rather than just managing large teams.
  • API & MarTech DNA: You have a proven track record of marketing technical products. You understand the nuances
